Residents in Newtown and Fenagh left intimidated by 'doughnut' drivers

At Carlow County Council's October meeting this week, councillors brought up the issue of 'doughnut' drivers.
Carlow villages are peppered with 'doughnut' marks from drivers. It was stated at the meeting that residents in the areas of Newtown and Fenagh are intimidated and have reported incidents of disturbance to the Gardaí.
These incidents of noise pollution and disturbance to local residents typically occur late at night between the hours of 12am and 2am.
While no further action has been taken, motorists can be prosecuted for dangerous driving.
