REVEALED: Carlow is one of the most expensive student towns in Ireland

New research carried out by Switcher.ie reveals that Carlow is amongst the top five most expensive student towns in Ireland.

Ranking fifth, the average cost for students in Carlow including accommodation and fees totals €15,177 per year.

This is broken down further with the average cost of accommodation in Carlow for students coming in at €584 per month. 

Groceries will set students back €205 per month while entertainment totals €308 per month.

Transport to and from Carlow averages €139 per month.

It is no surprise that Dublin is ranked as the most expensive student town in Ireland (€18,570 per year), closely followed by Maynooth, Cork and Limerick.

Research shows that the cheapest student town in Ireland is Letterkenny, costing in total €12,791 per year. This is followed by Sligo, Waterford, Dundalk and Athlone.
