RIP: Heartbreak in Carlow as beloved man dies unexpectedly in hospital

A funeral will be held in Carlow following the unexpected death of a local man loved by many people in the community.

Adam Tierney of 20 Mount Leinster Park, Tullow Rd., Carlow, passed away unexpectedly, on July 16th, 2026, at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny.

Beloved son of Vicky, adored grandson of Ann and the late Padjo and cherished brother of Brad.

Adam will be sadly missed by his loving mother, grandmother, brother, Brad’s partner Ciara, uncle Patrick, aunt Joy and her children Hazel and Alanna, his godchildren Tori Lee and Alanna, relatives and friends.

Adam will repose at Carpenters Funeral Home, Shamrock Square, Carlow (Eircode R93 C863) on Sunday, July 19th from 5pm until 7pm.

Cremation Service will take place on Monday in Carpenter Bros Cremation Chapel, Shamrock Sq at 11am.

Tributes have poured in o RIP.ie for Adam and his family. One person said: “ Deepest sympathy to you Ann and Brad and Vicky and Joy on the sudden death of Adam. May his gentle soul rest in peace”.
