UPDATE: Carlow Town Train Station's new footbridge to be completed by August of this year

Fine Gael TD for Carlow, Pat Deering, has confirmed that the new footbridge at Carlow Town Train Station is due to be completed by August.

In a statement today, he said: "I have been informed by Irish Rail that the tendering process for the new lift and footbridge at the train station are almost complete and work is due to commence in May and is due to be completed in August.

"This is a long overdue project and will bring access at the train station into the 21st century."
