Carlow ambulance service issues statement to Carlow parents teach their children about the dangers of the roads

As the back-to-school season is starting, Carlow ambulance service is warning parents to be very careful during school runs.

With high volume of traffic and a high number of pedestrians, especially in and around local schools, parents are asked to teach their children to practice road safety.

“Pedestrians and cyclists remember you need to be visible and look out for danger also. Parents have that chat with kids and advise them on the dangers and make sure they get home safely every day,” Carlow ambulance service said.

“Back to school is just around the corner, so we're urging all motorists to take care on the roads, particularly near schools and in built up areas. Be mindful of pedestrians and cyclists, we all share the road.

“We'd ask parents to ensure that your child is visible when walking or cycling to school, and if you're driving always make sure everyone has put on their seat belts”.
