Halloween weather: Met Éireann issues horror forecast for trick or treaters

Halloween night looks set to be miserable with widespread rain and even flooding in some places.

The horror forecast is not good news for trick or treaters who may have to dodge the heavy showers on their annual door-to-door tradition.

Met Éireann says today, October 31, will see rain continue in Ulster with localised flooding.

Despite "a drier start elsewhere with mist and fog in places, gradually clearer, rain will develop in the southwest in the late morning and spread northeastwards through the afternoon and evening with a chance of spot flooding."

"Highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees with light to moderate southeasterly winds, fresher in the west and southwest," they aded.

They also predict a "wet night with widespread rain, with spot flooding possible. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees with moderate to fresh south to southeast winds."
