Maximum afternoon temperatures will be around the January average ranging from 6 to 8 degrees in a moderate southwest breeze.

Clear spells and a few showers overnight Thursday.

Rather cold with frost and ice forming in some sheltered areas.

Lowest temperatures of 0 to +3 degrees in generally moderate northwest winds.

Friday 5th January will be a bright but rather cold day with lots of crisp winter sunshine and just a few passing showers.

Top temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees in moderate to fresh northwest winds.

National Outlook: Becoming mostly dry as high pressure builds. Turing colder with frost and fog expected in places.
