Met Éireann is warning of torrential downpours with a potential for lightning and hail in Carlow and four other counties later this weekend.
The national forecaster has issued a status yellow thunderstorm warning for Carlow, Kilkenny, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford.

According to Met Éireann, potential impacts include travel related issues, spot flooding and lightning strikes.
Highest temperatures on Sunday will reach between 18 and 23 degrees.
In its latest forecast, Met Éireann says any showers or thunderstorms will die away early on Sunday night to leave a dry night under mostly clear skies.
