Seven areas, including roads and a park, have been forced to close in Carlow as Storm Chandra rips through the county.
Carlow County Council have confirmed that the N81 Road in Rathvilly is closed due to flood waters from the Slaney while the Leighlin Road (L-3920) is currently flooded and impassable at Lanigan’s Lock (Crossneen Road).
The Quinnagh Road and Skrannahane, Ballinkillen Road are also both closed due to this flooding, as is Ballinrush Road near Myshall, which had to close due to damage caused by the flowing water.

The council also confirmed that the popular Carlow Town Park is set to close from this evening, January 27, while the carpark in Tinnahinch is already closed due to flooding.
Speaking on Storm Chandra, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána in the county said, "Gardaí are working with local authorities to keep public areas safe but ask that the public remain away from flooded areas as much as possible."
Two Status Yellow wind and rain warnings were issued for Carlow. The rain warning came into effect at midnight on Tuesday, January 27, with the wind warning kicking in just hours later at 3am.
Both warnings are set to be lifted at 11pm on Tuesday night, January 27.
