Carlow sunsets just after 7pm by end of month with four minutes of daylight to be lost each day

Sunset on Sunday was 20:14 in Carlow and by the end of the month it will be 19:07, according to

Alan O'Reilly said: "So we lose an hour of evening light within a month and we lose about 4 minutes of daylight each day!‬

"Talk of an Indian Summer seems to have jinxed the weather with cooler unsettled coming from Thursday too!

"However the good news is we have a few nice days ahead with high pressure in place up until Wednesday.

"So dry and settled tomorrow, Tuesday and Wednesday with temps of 17c - 19c not too breezy with good sunny spells but cool nights.

"From Thursday it looks cooler by day with temps struggling to get above 15c and some light rain."
