Calm before the storm forecasted for Carlow ahead of hurricane winds later in the week

Some good news

It'll be a warm day Wednesday with temperatures up to 20C, according to www.carlowweather.com.

Forecaster Alan O'Reilly said: "In the shorter term heavy rain over the coming days with over 50mm in some areas of the Northwest up to Wednesday. Then a warm day Wednesday with temps up to 20c but breezy!‬

"Overnight charts continue to show a serious storm Thursday night into Friday with damaging gusts. Some charts continue to show gusts of over 130kmh on the West coast and over 110kmh widely. This will be called #StormCallum if these charts verify!

"ECMWF shifts the track a little and a little less powerful than yesterday’s charts but still a very damaging storm shown with extreme gusts in Western areas. The charts will chop and change over the coming days."
