A bitterly cold weekend is on the horizon with low windchill by day and cold nights with frost likely Sunday night but it should hold mainly dry for the South East, according to www.carlowweather.com.
Forecaster Alan O'Reilly said: "It will feel bitterly cold from Friday for a few days but chances of snow away from high ground is very unlikely."
Thursday will be dry and a little cooler around 12C, cloudy but some sunny spells in strong northwest breeze.
Dry and cloudy Thursday in strong Westerly breeze, around 14C.
Much colder air will arrive on Friday morning with a bitterly cold Northerly and strong breeze, around 10C but feeling cooler in the windchill.
