Friday and Saturday look mainly dry but overcast with just the odd bright spell, still breezy and temperatures of around 13C to 14C, according to www.carlowweather.com.
Forecaster Alan O'Reilly said: "Sunday then looks a nice day with plenty of sunny spells but turning cooler, around 10C in a cool Easterly breeze.
"Next week then still looks much colder with day time temps struggling to get above 6c or 7c and frost by night but dull and overcast by day.
"Beyond the early days of next week is uncertain with some charts showing even colder weather arriving but others showing a more typical weather.
"It is wait and see for now what might happen beyond middle of next week but certainly cooler weather coming."
