It'll be a lot different from our mild stormy weather

The longer range charts show a change of weather patterns as models are starting to show a colder blocked setup with a possible Easterly influence, according to www.carlowweather.com.

Forecaster Alan O'Reilly said: "This is NOT a beast from the East but would be a lot different from our mild stormy weather. Wait and see for now.

"The track of the possible storm on Friday remains uncertain.

"It does look likely to turn much colder Friday but as I say uncertainty on the storm at present but it looks windy for sure and some rain.

"Weekend then looks around 10C with showers and windy."
