Met Éireann issues snow and ice warning for the entire country

Met Éireann has issued a status yellow snow-ice warning for the entire country today, Monday, January 28.

The warning is valid for five full days and states that it will be "very cold this week with scattered wintry showers, frequent across the southwest, west and north."

The national forecaster also says that "some accumulations of snow are expected" and that "there will be widespread frost at night with icy stretches on untreated surfaces."

Met Éireann officials have also indicated that there is the possibility of "a more significant spell of sleet or snow on Thursday."

They will update their current warning at 10am on Tuesday, January 29.

The warning is valid from 6am on Tuesday until 6pm on Saturday.
