Weather charts for May 14 are looking good

"Looking good for some proper heat," says Carlow forecaster Alan O'Reilly but first we'll have to endure some cold and wet weather during the week ahead.

He said: "Everyone asking about weekend, still looking cool with showers.

"Charts have now come on board for milder weather early next week as warm air moves up from south. Little too far out yet but it’s looking good for some proper heat from next Monday.

"Some variance in the model trends between GFS and ECM but both showing an increase in temps from around May 13, one week away."

HOwever, according to www.carlowweather.com, "Either way, a cold week ahead!‬

"Staying cool for the week with risk of showers Tuesday followed by persistent rain Tuesday night and Wednesday morning in cold Northerly wind.

"Thursday and Friday look showery and cool and latest guidance for weekend shows cooler weather continuing but perhaps a little less cold with showers."
