'Doesn't get much better than that' - Experts confirm week-long heatwave as temperatures set to soar

Some parts of Ireland will see highs of 25 degrees
The sun is out and temperatures are on the rise for Ireland this week as experts have confirmed the good weather is here to stay...for this week anyway.
Met Éireann have laid out their forecast for the week ahead, and early next week, and it's safe to say this week will be a cracker with highs of 23, and 25 in some places, blue skies and a tiny chance of some isolated rain in some parts.
Carlow Weatherman Alan O'Reilly has also been keeping the country updated on the great weather saying it "doesn't get much better than that for May."
High pressure will bring dry, settled conditions for the latter half of this week with plenty of sunshine and temperatures into the high teens or low twenties.
Tuesday
Any isolated showers in the south will clear this morning and most places will be warm and sunny today. However, scattered showers will develop in the south and west this afternoon. Some of the showers will be heavy with possible thunderstorms. Highest temperatures of 19 to 24 degrees, a little cooler near east coasts in a light to moderate easterly breeze.
Clear and dry for most tonight but heavy showers will continue in parts of the south and west early on, with a few thunderstorms possible. They will die out by midnight with largely clear skies developing. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees in a light to moderate easterly breeze.
Wednesday
Tomorrow will be another sunny day for most. Showers will develop in parts of Munster and south Connacht through the afternoon and evening, some heavy with a chance of thunderstorms. Highest temperatures of 16 degrees in the east to 23 degrees in the west in moderate easterly winds.
Any showers will die out early on Wednesday night, leaving clear skies nationwide. A few mist and fog patches are possible in a light easterly or variable breeze. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees.
Thursday
Warm and sunny, with sunshine turning a little hazy at times. Highest temperatures generally of 18 to 22 degrees, but slightly cooler near eastern coasts in light to moderate northeast winds.
Remaining dry overnight with clear skies. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees in a light easterly breeze.
Friday
Another dry and largely sunny day. Highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees but once again marginally cooler in the east due to light to moderate easterly winds.
The weekend
Staying sunny and warm for the weekend. Highest temperatures generally of 17 to 22 or 23 degrees, with coolest conditions again in eastern coastal counties due to easterly breezes.
Early next week
Current indications suggest that it will stay settled and warm for the early days of next week with temperatures in the high teens or low twenties.
