It will remain windy and very showery into Saturday but Sunday looks dryer and cooler

"It may not have a name but it is rather impressive looking storm," forecaster Alan O'Reilly of www.carlowweather.com has said.

He added: "Thankfully the center is staying north of Ireland but Scotland is seeing some very strong gusts.

"The storm with no name ‪is a Low System rapidly developing out to the West of Ireland and will bring some strong winds from early Friday morning right through the day and into Saturday. ‬

"Strongest winds in the West and especially Northwest. Orange and Yellow weather Warnings in place there.

"However all areas will see strong winds, strongest around Carlow later Friday afternoon and evening. Some heavy showers too but they will he hit and miss.

"It will remain windy and very showery into Saturday but Sunday looks dryer and cooler, still windy though."
