The rain and drizzle will gradually clear eastwards this morning and early afternoon with brighter, drier and sunnier conditions and just the odd light shower spreading from the west. Highest temperatures of 18 to 21 degrees with moderate to fresh and gusty south to southwest winds easing and becoming west to northwest with the clearance."

Tomorrow: "Many parts dry with sunny spells to begin tomorrow, Wednesday. Cloud amounts will tend to increase from the west through the day and it will become breezier too, but there will still be sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees with light to moderate southwest winds, increasing moderate to fresh later."

Wednesday night: "Cloudy or overcast conditions will spread eastwards over the country along with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, which will turn persistent and perhaps heavy locally in the west and north. A mild night with temperatures no lower that 13 to 16 degrees. Winds will be mostly moderate southwest, fresh to strong near coasts."
