Carlow Weather and Met Éireann have provided weather updates for the day.

Firstly Carlow Weather on X: " A few fine days ahead before showers likely return Saturday night and Sunday. Still some uncertainty around Sundays details. More unsettled then next week but exact track of low system will determine how much rain we see. Possibly improving again towards end of next week though."

"Even better Friday with good sunshine for many and up to 21c but cooler near South and Southeast coast."

Looking then at Met Éireann's forecast: "Dry today, Thursday, with any mist and fog soon clearing this morning. While there will be a good deal of cloud overall, warm spells of hazy sunshine will develop. Sea fog may affect areas near the coast at times today. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees in mostly light southerly or variable breezes."

Then for this evening: "Continuing dry tonight with varying cloud amounts. Clear spells will increase overnight. Mist and fog patches will form, mainly in southern parts. Lowest temperatures 7 to 11 degrees in light southeast or variable breezes."

An early prediction by Met Éireann for Friday morning: "Any morning cloud or patchy mist and fog, will give way to a dry and mostly sunny day, tomorrow, Friday. Highest temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees in light to moderate south or southeast breezes, warmest across central and northern parts of the province. It'll be a little cooler near the southeast coast due to onshore breezes and there is a chance of sea fog drifting a little inland here at times."
