Behaviour described as 'disrespectful'

"Bring in byelaws to control the use of mobile phones," Cllr Tommy Kinsella said over members' phones going off and members taking calls during this month's meeting of Bagenalstown Municipal District.

Mobile phones went off on a number of occasions during the meeting with some councillors taking calls and leaving for brief periods.

Cllr Willie Quinn said the phones disturbing the meeting was "disrespectful" and called on councillors to turn their phones off as the meetings would only be lasting an hour.
