A councillor has said that safety concerns at a dangerous bridge near Bagenalstown "can't continue".

Cllr Arthur McDonald repeated his calls for a "white line system" to be installed on Kilcarrig Bridge for pedestrians to stand inside on the "very dangerous" piece of infrastructure.

He made the comments at this month's meeting of Bagenalstown Municipal District and he asked area engineer, Jerry Crowley, to resurface the road and install the white lines from the school all the way up to the bridge.

"Lorries won't cross the line and it will give people some safety," Cllr McDonald added.

Mr Crowley said he would look to get the white line installed.
