From the event organisers:

"We are pleased to announce this new course. Claire Keegan believes that much of what she has learned about writing stories came from studying film and that this, in part, is why her stories are so visual and appeal to so many readers and filmmakers. Claire will be leading participants through how stories start, their beginnings, their (often neglected) middles, and how and why they should or need to conclude.

Participants will be writing and studying quietly in the mornings. Seminars on what Claire has learned from film will be held in the afternoons, and there will also be one evening session, after dinner.
Films that Claire will discuss include: The Godfather, Barton Fink, Fatal Attraction, The Zone of Interest, Heat, The Scent of Green Papaya, Diary of a Country Priest, Taxi Driver, Manchester by the Sea, Amour and The Shining.

The residential fee includes all meals, drinks, tuition and accommodation. Some non-residential places will also be made available which include everything except accommodation. Everyone is welcome to arrive any time after 11am on the first day and settle into their rooms before lunch is served at 12.45pm. Vegetarians, vegans and those who require gluten-free and lactose-free diets will be catered for. Dinner will be served in the evenings after drinks before the fire in the sitting room. The course ends after seminars conclude around 5pm on November 4th."
