"Joyous…Magical….Visually Spellbinding”. (The Irish Times).
Inspired by the children’s poetry and stories of WB Yeats, 'When The Moon Spun Round' is a coming together of artists and performers from the worlds of aerial dance and traditional arts, resulting in a unique experience that is sure to leave audiences of all ages enthralled. Ireland’s leading Circus Company, Fidget Feet Aerial Dance Theatre has teamed up with the virtuosic traditional music company Ceol Connected to co-create a magical new show for young audiences.
Come on an imaginative journey where aerialists dance and toss like the waves of the sea; where a fiddler soars high; where the moon delights with its beauty and where darkness falls to reveal a new dance for all. And let’s not forget! the very mysterious antique lady of the river whose feathers explore what lies behind the moon once it spins round!
A wonderfully dark and dreamy performance for young audiences with a beautiful display of aerial dance performed by Fidget Feet’s aerialists entwined with Ceol Connected and Jym Daly’s melodic and enchanting airs.Fidget Feet Aerial Dance Company has been wowing audiences for 25 years, with their indoor and outdoor aerial circus acrobatics. Since 1998 they have created, established and nurtured the aerial dance sector in Ireland; created international connections and collaborations; and created and toured work for audiences of all ages.Ceol Connected has been producing shows, festivals, events, albums and other art experiences for children since 2011, drawing inspiration and intrigue from the world of traditional arts.
Originally funded by the Arts Council and commissioned by Babaró International Arts Festival for Children. Supported by Siamsa Tire, Lime Tree Theatre and Irish Aerial Creation Centre.
