Fresh from sell-out runs in Kilkenny, Carlow and Dublin, the acclaimed Irish musical drama Letters From The Front returns to Carlow this November with a new production.
The show will be starring award-winning West End leading lady Rebecca Storm and featuring a cast of 35 talented performers.
Making his debut with Cloud 9 Productions, 20-year-old Waterford native Ivan Kiely portrays Heinrich Breitner, a German teenager who falsifies his age to enlist in the army.
Ivan has appeared in productions including The Sound of Music (Rolf), Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (Neil Sedaka), and Legally Blonde.
The highly acclaimed musical drama written by Ollie Hennessy and Don O’Connor, has received rave reviews for its powerful storytelling, sweeping orchestral score, and deeply moving performances.

Letters From The Front tells the emotional stories of three families caught in the chaos of World War I, tales of love, loss, courage and hope, inspired by real letters exchanged between soldiers and their loved ones between 1914 and 1918.
This November, audiences will once again be transported to the battlefields and home fronts of the Great War, as Rebecca Storm delivers a powerhouse performance alongside a talented ensemble including Ukrainian baritone, Maxym Lozovyi and Waterford newcomer, Ivan Kiely.
Rebecca Storm said, “It’s an honour to return to Carlow with Letters From The Front after such an incredible response in Kilkenny and Dublin. This show is so close to my heart it’s moving, emotional, and filled with humanity. I actually have letters written by my great-grandfather who fought at the Battle of the Somme, so performing this piece always feels deeply personal.”
Maxym Lozovyi, a highly regarded Ukrainian baritone now based in Ireland, joins the Carlow cast following appearances with the Irish National Opera Company in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly at Dublin’s Bord Gáis Energy Theatre. His recently released debut album, Songs for Every Memory, has been met with critical acclaim.
Creators Don O’Connor and Ollie Hennessy are thrilled to bring the production back to Carlow, where their creative partnership first began. Don said, “The reaction from audiences in Kilkenny and Dublin has been phenomenal. Bringing Letters From The Front home to Carlow feels incredibly special it’s where the journey of this musical first took root, and we can’t wait for local audiences to experience the new cast and the emotional depth this show has reached.”
