Hannah Driver will represent Carlow at this weekend’s Miss Macra Festival in Tipperary.

Three days of activities has been planned starting with a Charity Night tonight (Friday), while tomorrow (Saturday) night is when all 24 contestants will take to the Dome in Semple Stadium.

Carlow Macra na Feirme posted on Facebook and said: "I hear it's a long way to Tipperary but our Hannah won't be long 'tipping' down there. She's currently en route and has more butterflies in her stomach now than when she met her boyfriend.

"On behalf of all the clubs, officers and members, we'd like to wish Hannah the very best of luck and thank her for being a wonderful rep. for Carlow Macra. We know she's going to make us all proud and do a great job on and off the stage."

The crowning of Miss Macra 2018 will take place in the Anner Hotel in Thurles on Sunday night. 

Hannah's interests include: jiving and farming.
