The Newfoundlanders are coming! There will be a Gala Trad Concert to open 13th Ireland Newfoundland Festival in Myshall, County Carlow.

The 13th annual Ireland Newfoundland Festival will kick off with a gala traditional music concert, with acclaimed musicians from Ireland’s South-East, in the Community Hall in Myshall, County Carlow, following the official opening of the festival at 8pm on Friday, August 17.

The 70 or so visitors coming from Newfoundland and a big home crowd will be entertained by a star line-up, featuring trad band Rattle the Boards, headed by legendary Danú leader Benny McCarthy on button accordion, joined by Pat Ryan on fiddle and banjo and John Nugent on guitar with Danú founder member and Clancy family connection, Donnchadh Gough on uilleann pipes and bodhrán.
