There are a wide range of events and activities on for Heritage Week in Carlow. 

A Old Photos of Council staff exhibition is on in the Carlow Library on August 23 while a sugar factor exhibition runs across seven days, also in Carlow Library. 

5th Class from Carlow Educate Together NS did a project on Carlow Sugar Factory through art and stories with the help of artist, Lorraine Fenlon.

A night of story telling, music, dance, listeners will be held by the Ballon Improvement Group at the Old School, Ballon on August 22. 

On August 19, the Carlow Branch of Birdwatch Ireland will hold a Wildlife Walk under Mount Leinster. A beautiful scenic walk along ancient lanes, looking at the interesting flora and fauna along the way. These will include birds, insects, wild flowers, ferns and mosses.

The Carlow Historical & Archaeological Society will hold a series of mini-lectures at St Patrick's, Carlow College on August 22. 

There'll be Avril Hogan 'Haddens 1848-1976 -Five generations of Retailing in the South East', & 'The Life of Michael Governey- Eugene Carbery's talk on the life, politics and business of his maternal grandfather' on the night. 

Join Carlow Historical & Archaeological Society for an evening of mini lectures to celebrate Carlow's retail heritage and share in the memories of two family businesses.
