If you’re a serious rambler or just like to stretch your legs and enjoy the view, then Carlow is a brilliant destination to explore on foot with a wide variety of walks to choose from.

The stunning natural features of the Blackstairs Mountains and the River Barrow provide the perfect backdrop for a range of superb walks to suit all levels. The lush, green landscape associated with Ireland’s Ancient East is found in abundance here.

The Carlow Autumn Walking Festival in October is a great opportunity for beginner, experienced or advanced walkers to enjoy the challenge of Carlow’s mountain treks or the peace of its woodland and riverside walks.

A beautiful and varied landscape, knowledgeable local guides and excellent accommodation all combine to ensure you enjoy an Autumn break, that will leave you feeling revitalised.

Walkers should be satisfied that they are fully capable of undertaking their chosen walk. If in doubt please consult the guides or organisers present.

Registration for all A and B walks takes place in the Town Hall, Main Street, Borris, Carlow at 9am on Saturday and Sunday (transport to/from start/finish of walk is provided).
