Carlow Carlow Carlow

The Carlow Town Park Run is 5km and is on every Saturday morning

Saturday, May 25 is Local and European Election count day but it's also Park Run day!

Carlow Park Run meets at the Millennium Bridge in the Town Park every Saturday morning at 9.30am for a pleasant 5km walk, run or jog along the Barrow track.

The organizers are extending an open invitation to all to participate in a special Parkrun Abú on Saturday, May 25 where the "cúpla focal" will be most welcome.

The event is free and will feature a fun morning of bilingual events including tea and coffee, a bouncy castle and slide, face painting, a morning Pop Up Gaeltacht as well as dancing and games with Wibbly Wobbly Wendy.

There will be cool red water bottles and wristbands for all compliments of Foras na Gaeilge.

Why not go along to the Millenium Bridge at 9.20am for the bilingual briefing prior to the off. Bring the kids and the buggy and enjoy the beautiful scenery walking, running or jogging at your own pace?

Park Run is open to all ages including families, fit and unfit, first timers and serious athletes. Taking part is totally free and is organized by a group of volunteers.

Park Run is all about taking part but anybody wishing to avail of their personal race timing can register by logging on to www.parkrun.ie/carlowtown and downloading a barcode.

Park Run Carlow has been taking place every Saturday morning since September 2017.
