WHAT'S ON: Your chance to see Carlow GAA memorabilia up close and personal

As part of National Heritage Week 2023, Siobhán Doyle will host a talk on the history of the GAA and reveal the Carlow connections.

Siobhán Doyle is author of ‘A History of the GAA in 100 Objects’ which was shortlisted for 2022 Sports Book of the Year at the An Post Irish Book Awards.

She will speak to the audience about some of her favourite objects from her book which features two objects from County Carlow: The Haughney Cup and the 1944 All Ireland Football Semi-Final match programme between Carlow and Kerry.

The Haughney Cup is the front cover of Siobhán's book and is also on display in Carlow County Museum.

At the event, there will be a selection of Carlow GAA memorabilia on display.

Carlow County Museum in partnership with Carlow County GAA Board have organised this event as part of National Heritage Week 2023.
