New bicycle parking facilities have been installed in Carlow due to funding by the NTA under the Active Travel Programme 2023.

Cyclists can now park their bikes securely at the new facilities at the Rehab, Carlow and in Fenagh. The Rehab facility includes ten covered cycle parking spaces, while the Fenagh facility provides for ten spaces with bike racks and a repair station.

The new cycle parking facilities are part of a wider effort by Carlow County Council and the NTA to promote cycling as a sustainable and healthy mode of transport and to encourage more people to choose to cycle for everyday journeys.

Other cycling initiatives which the council have invested in recently includes, the provision of an e-bike share scheme and cycle training.
