People before profit are meeting around the country to highlight the housing crisis
As part of the National Housing Day of Action, People Before Profit are organising a housing activist meeting that will be held in Carlow to highlight and discuss the current housing crisis. The meeting in Carlow will be to highlight issues in Carlow and Kilkenny.
With housing affordability and availability reaching critical levels in the community, this meeting aims to provide a platform for open dialogue, collaborative problem-solving, and grassroots activism. Attendees will have the opportunity to voice their concerns, share personal experiences, and contribute to the development of local solutions.
Meeting organiser, Rohana Perera said: "Ending the housing crisis must be the number one priority for the upcoming elections. This meeting is an important step towards mobilizing our community and advocating for meaningful change. We believe that by coming together as a community, we can work towards ensuring that everyone has access to a place they can call home."
Attendees are encouraged to come prepared to participate actively and engage in discussions on potential actions and initiatives. All interested community members, including residents, activists, policymakers, and service providers, are encouraged to attend this vital meeting. The meeting will be held on Saturday 6th at 3:30pm in Reddy’s Bar, Carlow.
