Bagenalstown Frire Brigade are attending the scene of a 3rd series of fires on Mount Leinster
Bagnelstown Fire Brigade have been attending their 3rd series of fires on Mount Leinster in Carlow in the past 24 hours.
Following the first of the 3 series early Monday morning (ARTICLE HERE).
Carlow County Fire and Rescue Service have warned about large volumes of smoke in the Rathanna and Ballymurphy areas.
Social Media is full of comments in reaction to the 3rd fire in 24 hours and some of those comments read as follows:
"So sad, I was walking up there Saturday, a Pine Martin ran in front of me on the way up. All the birds nesting, this is a tragic eco crime, how does it keep happening, what's it going to take to stop it."
"But why? It’s stupid and puts peoples lives at risk and of course the wildlife!"
"Poor wildlife."
Gardaí at this time are currently not investigating this for potential fowl play. More news to follow.
