A developer looking to build 72 new homes in Carlow town must reapply for planning permission after Carlow County Council deemed the original application invalid last week.
Nesselside Builders UC's original application sought permission to develop a residential scheme consisting of 72 homes at a site on the Hacketstown Road, in the Townland of Kearnstown.
The proposed development consisted of ten 3 bedroom two-storey, semi-detached homes, four 3-bed two-storey terraced homes, 4 2-bed two-storey terraced houses, 27 one-bed duplexes, and 27 2-bed duplexes. Also included in the proposal is 107 car parking spaces with 18 visitor cycle parking spaces and ancillary works.
The council have deemed this planning application invalid and have provided the developer with the alterations needed to ensure that the planning application can be processed when/if the developer decides to reapply for planning permission at the site.
The council wrote to Nesselside Builders UC informing them of the above information on May 16, 2024.
