Planning application received for wind farm in County Carlow

Carlow County Council have received a planning application from EDF Renewables Ireland Limited for a 7 wind turbines in County Carlow and surrounding area.

The main work detailed in the planning permission are to take place in the townlands of the Ridge, Agharue, Coolnakisha, and Seskinrea in County Carlow.

The planning permission includes the 7 wind turbines previously mentioned as well as ancillary works including site entrances, tree felling etc.

The application also contains that the planning permission be valid for a 10 year period and it is sought the wind farm be given a 35 year operational life from the date of commissioning of the entire wind farm.

The planning application was submitted earlier this month, with a decision to be made in early July.
