Carlow Gardaí are investigating the incident which occurred last Sunday
Carlow Gardaí are investigating an incident where a car was stolen with a passenger still in the back seat of the vehicle.
The incident occurred at 23.30 on Sunday the 2nd of June outside Rico's takeaway.
The delivery driver left their car and entered the premises, a single male then sat into the driver seat of the car and drove off at speed towards the direction of Church Street.
The keys of the vehicle had been left in the ignition and the partner of the driver was sat in the back seat of the vehicle at the time of the robbery.
The thief then stopped the car and demanded that the female exit the car and she complied.
The vehicle involved in the incident was a 08D registered grey Peugeot 307 hatchback.
Gardaí in Bagenalstown are urging anyone with information in relation to the incident to come forward and make themselves known to the Gardaí. They can do so by contacting Gardaí the Bagenalstown Garda Station or by ringing Carlow Garda Station on 059 913 6620.
