Carlow Councillor Will Paton has provided an announcement on his Facebook page, that Tullow Town Park is set to be closed for a year to facilitate an upgrade to the pipe network serving Tullow Waste Water Treatment Plant.

Cllr Will Paton wrote on Facebook:

"NEWSFLASH - TULLOW TOWN PARK to CLOSE
Tullow Town Park is to close for a year from Wednesday 19th June 2024 in order facilitate an upgrade to the pipe network serving Tullow Waste Water Treatment Plant.

The area in front of the Riverbank Restaurant the Inner Relief Road, Tullow will close on Monday 17th June."

The announcement on Facebook met by a number of unhappy social media users.

One user wrote: "Fantastic just in time for school summer holidays."

Another user wrote: "Cover it over and relocate."

A third user echoes the same sentiment: "An ideal time to relocate it?"
