Two men (60s) and (20s) are being treated with serious injuries following crash in Carlow

The man in his 60s was airlifted to Tallaght hospital following the incident

Gardai are appealing for any witnesses following a crash between a tractor and a car in Rathvinden, Leighlinbridge, Carlow on Thursday the 29th of August 2024.

"Shortly before 10 a.m. on Thursday, 29th August 2024, Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a collision between a car and a tractor on the R488 at Rathvinden, Leighlinbridge, Co. Carlow.


The tractor driver, a man in his 60s, was airlifted to Tallaght Hospital with serious injuries. The car's driver, a man in his 20s, was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny for assessment.


Witnesses are urged to contact Carlow Garda Station at (059) 913 6620 or the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111.


The R488 is open for use."
