The first of the 6 week programmes took place on Tuesday October 1st

The launch of a brand new Health and Wellbeing Initiative for the Carlow Farming Community had its first of six weeks of weekly events on Tuesday the 1st of October.

The programme will run over 6 weeks with events every week on topics around farmer health, safety, and wellbeing.

The announcement of the 6 week programme came on the Healthy Carlow Facebook page:

"Carlow Farmer Health and Wellbeing Initiative Launches today.
A Health and Wellbeing Initiative for the Carlow Farming Community will commence Tuesday, 1st October at Leinster Marts, Killeshin Road, Carlow. 

The programme, funded by the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine will feature six events, running through October and November. The farming community are invited to attend free informative talks, that address important issues such as farm succession & will-making, gambling addiction, coping with grief and sudden death, coping with the pressures of farming, managing time, and farm safety. Each of the talks will conclude with a hot dinner and an opportunity to chat to speakers and fellow farmers.
The series will culminate in a Wellbeing Day, complete with information stands, wellbeing packs, health supports, and more resources for local farmers."
