In the video announcing the success of the campaign Councillor Ward says:

" Hi there it's budget day today. And this budget is going to be all about putting money back in your pocket and helping workers and families. However, one thing in particular, I'm delighted that the Minister of Health is going to announce is free HRC for all women who need it experiencing menopause. From the 1st of January, 2025. This is a campaign that I started when I first heard about back during the local elections.

When I was out meeting people. I then got in contact with the relevant ministers and TDS to highlight this issue. After that, I spoke to local media, such as newspapers and radios. And just last week, I was late to be working with Senator Maria Byrne to highlight this issue in the Seanad. So, I'm delighted to say that it's an announced today. It's a great day for women and a great day for women's healthcare in Ireland does this medication cost anywhere from €30 to €70 per month for women.

So I'm delighted about this and hopefully we'll be able to keep making progress on women's health care in Ireland. Thank you."
