County Carlow's very own, Derek Ryan, has took to Instagram to announce that he has got engaged to his partner Stephanie.
He announced the engagement by sharing a snap of the pair on a walk in the woods with the caption "Here's to forever".
The Garyhill man first made a name for himself in when, at just 17 years old, he joined boyband, D-Side, and performed with the group until they disbanded in 2006.
From there Derek made the transition to his solo career, releasing his first album, 'A Mother's Son' in 2010. He has earned many awards for his work over the years scooping titles such as Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best Live Performer.
Derek's Instagram post following his engagement was flooded with comments of well wishes for the country music star and some read:
"Awhh lovely news! Congratulations to you both."
Another reads:
"Awww huge congratulations to you both!!! Delighted for you guys"
A third user writes:
"Congratulations to you both, your ring is beautiful Stephanie! Enjoy all the celebrations!"
