Local County Carlow business, PJ Duffy, has recently celebrated the huge milestone of being in business for 100 years. An incredible achievement given the struggles businesses face to stay open for 1 year never mind hitting the 100 mark.
The drapery shop, located in Tullow, County Carlow, celebrated the huge milestone before they will be closing their doors for a final time in April.
Carlow Councillor Ben Ward posted on his Facebook account to congratulate the business on their achievement:
"Today I called into P.J Duffy to congratulate them on 100 years of business in Tullow and to wish them the best of luck as they close their doors this April. Hopefully we’ll see more business in Tullow for the next 100 years."
Comments under the Councillor's post reads:
"Great shop and the staff were brilliant over the years to the all the families in Tullow. Happy retirement to Arnold and staff."
Another reads:
"Mam loved her purchases there. Great service. Thanks for all and happy retirement."
A third user writes:
"Many the Shoes and Socks came from there over the years. Thank you P.J. Duffy for all the service to the Tullow Community."
Fair play to all the staff and owners at PJ Duffy on the incredible achievement!
