The Carlow Gardaí posted the news to their Facebook page:

"As part of a National Roads Policing Operation Carlow RPU were out on the county's roads targeting uninsured drivers. The occupants of this car tried to avoid us by turning back from a checkpoint but they didn't get very far. This was one of four cars seized for no insurance in Carlow during the operation. As a bonus this vehicle was wanted by our colleagues in Offaly who are investigating another incident. All drivers will have a date in Carlow District Court soon."
