Conditional approval for provided for transformation of Carlow home into adult day care centre

Carlow County Council has provided  conditional planning approval for the change of a residential home in Carlow Town to be turned into an Adult Day Care Centre.

The site is located at Mardi, Tullow Road, Carlow, and was received by the Council on the 31st of October 2024.

The planning permission reads:

Change of use from private residential house to Adult Day Care Centre. The proposal includes the following works: Demolition of front porch and the extensions on the east side of the house. New single storey extension to the rear. All associated site development and ancillary works.

The planning decision was initially set to be made by the Carlow County Council on the 3rd of January 2025, it was then decided the decision would be made on March 6th, but as of March 3rd (time of writing) the decision has been made.

The planning decision provided is conditional, there are 14 conditions that must be followed during the time of works taking place.

The Carlow County Council have listed some of the conditions for the development and they include:

The building works to only be taken place from Monday to Friday 8:00am-6:00pm. Saturday 8:00am-1:00pm. Sundays and Public Holidays - no activity.

A number of conditions in relation to visual amenity.

Conditions in relation to pedestrian and traffic safety.
