Plans have been submitted to the Carlow County Council for the demolition of two single story houses in Carlow Town and construct a new cafe and apartments.
The planning application was submitted by Farrell Construction on the 17th of June 2025 to the Carlow County Council.
The proposed location of the new planning works is set at 2/3 Staplestown Road, Carlow Town, R93 T9V4.

The proposed works in the plans submitted are:
For demolition of 2no. single storey houses and the construction of 1 block to street front comprising of 1 cafe unit to ground floor and number 1, 1 bedroom apartment with number 3 1 bedroom units to first floor and associated stairs/lift and number 1 block to rear of site comprising of number 4, 1 bedroom apartments to ground floor and number 4, 1 bedroom apartments to first floor and associated stairs/lift and all associated works.
The Carlow County Council are expected to make a decision on the planning application on the 30th of June 2025, updates of which can be found on Carlow Live once they have been made.
