The new was posted about on the Carlow County Council and reads:
"Delighted to have installed a duck feeder in Carlow Town Park this morning! You can now feed your local swans and ducks with healthy feed that is good for their diet.
The Feeders reduce bread feeding and overfeeding in public spaces.
As a result we reduce the amount of foreign feed and rotting excess food that leads to silt build up in local ecosystems and attract vermin.
To reduce plastic litter waste, the feed is dispensed to hand.
The quality nutritious feed is dispensed in smaller quantities that is healthy for the local wildlife and reduces significant overfeeding.
Each Feeder is made from recycled plastics, equivalent to 20,000 plastic bottles.
An initiative that has a positive green carbon footprint that all members of the community can be a part of. "
