The winner of this year's Home of the Year has been decided.

Judges Hugh Wallace, Amanda Bone and Sara Cosgrove all loved the boutique terrace home in Co Dublin, with Sara calling it an "exceptional" winner.

The winning home is owned by Shane Murray and Marty Campbell and was praised for using "every inch" of space possible.

When the homeowners bought the house it was in a state of "disrepair" and the duo spent several months renovating it.

They said, "Finding somewhere we could stamp our personality, that was important to us."

During the judges' visit, the dining room in particular was praised as being a "jewel box" of a room, with the couple's moody colour scheme also praised.

Judge Hugh Wallace said, "This is a truly amazing, highly personalised home which has inspired me."

Praising the home's "attention to detail" and "bold colour schemes", he stated, "Really, every inch was used in this home."

According to RSVP Live, they bought the home after postponing their wedding in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Shane and Marty - who didn't think they'd even reach the final at all - are delighted with their win.

Speaking tp RSVP, they said, "We're ecstatic. When we found out we won, it was surreal."

Speaking following Shane and Marty's win, Sara said, "There are seven incredible finalists and each home has a true heart. This winner is exceptional."

Amanda Bone also commented, stating, "This competition is so special. It's about our homes, which have a heart and soul which help to make us who we are."
