A co-star of the 2 Johnnies has accepted his stardom status after revealing that he was listed simply as 'Johnny B' in the team sheet for a GAA match he played over the weekend.
Talking to co-hosts Johnny Smacks and Aifric O'Connell on 2FM's 'Drive It' show, Johnny B revealed that when he kitted out for Cahir's Junior A football side against Ballylooby on Saturday, his surname was hilariously dropped from the teamsheet.
Johnny B, or as Smacks called him "the artist formerly known as Johnny B O'Brien", said that he had hit "a milestone in a man's life".
"The best day of a man's life can be the birth of their child, or their wedding, but I've yet to experience any of those adult things," B said.
"For me, I had a big one today. Played a bit of junior football, the team sheet went out to the press, on the internet, the whole team is named, and I am down simply as Johnny B. It's the first time in my life that they haven't used my full name".
Smacks jokingly said the team sheet would feature "in the Nationalist newspaper", while B explained that he had "played terrible, wouldn't kick a paper bag out of my way".
Listing the rest of the Cahir team that lost by 1-8 to 0-4 against Ballylooby on Saturday, Johnny B went through the forward line, ending with corner forward, who was simply listed as "Johnny B".
Smacks was quick to compare his co-host to other stars, saying "he's like Seal, or Cher, he's up there with Madonna! You've made it now."
Johnny B revealed that "Making the local paper is what I've always wanted," recalling the first time he made the Nationalist in 1997, getting his face into a shot of the Cahir football team.
"It's a life goal completed, making the local paper," he added.
