Well done to all involved!

"Ballinabranna won't see a day like it again," said one organiser as hundreds turned out for Amira Rauf's Charity Road Run to help raise funds for the Carlow toddler's treatment.

Amira has been in Temple Street Children's Hospital in recovery after a car accident last November left the little one paralysed from her chest down.

The crash occurred on November 6 on the N80 Portlaoise to Carlow road close to Simmon's Mill Cross between Stradbally and Arles. A man in his 40s was fatally injured in the crash.

The local community in Ballinabranna has rallied around the family with fundraisers to help them meet the costs of Amira's treatment.

An organiser of the charity road run last Sunday said: "It was a fantastic day, unbelievable turn out. Ballinabranna won't see a day like it again. It was so emotional to see the support from near and far."
